Must-see highlights of the ski area

Val d'Isère’s ski area abounds with unique experiences, ranging from family fun zones to exceptional discoveries, not forgetting beautiful views that are well worth a stop. Here are some of the best experiences not to be missed during your stay.

Discover mountain professions at ValKids

Set at the top of the Solaise gondola lift, Val Kids playground offers a fun, child-sized discovery of mountain professions. With a mini first aid station, snow factory, piste groomer and cable car to operate, children can really get a feel for how a ski area is run.

Easily accessible on foot or on skis from the Solaise gondola lift, it enjoys plenty of sunshine all day long and is the perfect playgroud for skiers and non-skiers alike. Round the experience off with breath-taking views and a coffee in the Lounge, either out on the terrace or soaking up the cosy atmosphere inside.

Adrenalin rush on the Leissières chairlift

The only one of its kind in the Alps, the 6-seater Leissières chairlift crosses over the top of a mountain crest to connect the Solaise and Iseran sectors, offering passengers a dizzying ride with stunning views!

After an uphill journey, the lift tilts up and over the crest before a steep descent on the other side, creating a feeling of stepping into the void with plunging views over the Vanoise summits. A rollercoaster in the heart of the mountains, accessible to anyone able to ski a blue run, it can be taken in both directions, from Solaise or the Vallon de l’Iseran.

Découvrir la légende du Mont Iseran

From the top of the Vallon gondola lift, immerse yourself in the legend of Mont Iseran, a ghost mountain described as a majestic summit over 4,000 metres high, depicted on European maps for over two and a half centuries despite never having existed.

One unknown mountaineer wrote to The Times to give a (false) account of his ascent! To find out more, take the time to explore the different exhibition areas in the Vallon gondola lift arrival station, accessible to skiers and pedestrians alike, and extend your visit to take in the Col de l’Iseran mountain pass, which is unmistakably real! Enjoy a wonderful walk over the highest road pass in the Alps, and admire its old auberge and chapel.
