Some key informations on this legendary bird of prey

The Bearded Vulture is easily recognized by its wingspan, which can measure from 2.3 to 2.8 meters when fully grown.

It gets its name from the small tuft of feathers under its beak, which gives the impression of having a beard.

This bird of prey is also known for its red-rimmed yellow eyes. In the 19th century, the Bearded Vulture was considered an evil bird and was driven out of the Alps, but it wasn't until the late 1980s that it made a comeback in the region.
