We’ve got an exciting winter season head of us in Val d’Isère with lots of new additions to make your experience on the slopes even more enjoyable, and sustainable too!
Explore the Mont Iseran Legend, the story of a mountain that never existed!
The story of a mountain... that never existed!
For more than 250 years, the mysterious Mont Iseran appeared on maps, the result of an error by cartographers back when Savoy was still part of the Kingdom of Piedmont-Sardinia. Little by little, through confusion, repeated errors, and simply because people trusted renowned cartographers, Mont Iseran became… a 4,000 meter peak.
This astonishing saga will come to life at the arrival station of the new Vallon gondolawhich has been in operation for two years—near the Pisaillas Glacier, the highest point (3,185 meters) in the Val d’Isère ski area.
Designed as an immersive journey through the history of Val d’Isère, this space will welcome both skiers and pedestrians throughout the day and offer a variety of experiences that allow visitors to immerse themselves in this fabulous history: a picnic area, a comic book corridor, an audio lounge, a museum space, and a children’s corner.
Vallon terrace & photo spot
At the Vallon gondola top station exit, discover a brand-new panoramic terrace. You’ll find picnic tables and an orientation table where you can admire the surrounding peaks, such as Albaron and the Pisaillas Glacier.
Take home a souvenir thanks to the photo spot on this new terrace! Trigger the camera using the dedicated kiosk, strike a pose, and scan your lift pass to retrieve your souvenir in the Val d’Isère Ski app!
Electric shuttlebuses
This winter, make the most of our 2 additional electric shuttlebuses, making a total of 17 totally electric vehicles for the 2026-2027 winter season. Practical and sustainable, this service makes it easier to get around resort whilst respecting the environment.
By investing in electric vehicles and HVO (recycled hydrotreated vegetable oil), Val d’Isère Téléphériques is continuing its transition to a clean-energy fleet of buses in a bid to reduce its CO2 emissions by 92% by 2030.

⚠️The route via Tommeuses is not accessible to pedestrians. Take the purple shuttle bound for Tignes 1800 from the Val d’Isère Bus Station to reach the village of Tignes. Locate it on the Val d’Isère Ski
